I'm getting a whiff of media "selection not election" in the air and I didn't get it from the "drive by media".  No, this is coming from Fox News as their commentators have a 3 way orgy over Rudy, Mitt and Mike on an almost daily basis!  Who said these guys get to pick which candidate we nominate?

I am scared to death that this year (like others) the omniscient media know-it-alls are going to lead this country astray as we are teetering on the precipice towards a downhill slide to collapse.  Now, I know that bringing up the name Pat Buchanan can conjure up some funny comments but Pat has a new book coming out which goes into detail on the massive challenges facing this country.  If we don't tackle these challenges in the next 4 to 8 years with COMPETENT LEADERSHIP BY AN AVOWED TRADITIONALIST, we are doomed to 3rd world status!

As the "sheeple" focus on candidates who are morphing into pseudo-conservatives, other REAL conservative candidates go virtually unnoticed.  What about Duncan Hunter of California?  What about Fred Thompson's new tax initiatives he unveiled on FNS this weekend?  Who cares if he got into the race a bit tardy or had some slight difficulties with his organization.  Thompson is here now, with fresh proposals and he can articulate them just fine!  PEOPLE NEED TO CIRCUMVENT THE MEDIA JUST LIKE REAGAN DID IN THE 1980'S!  With the massive amount of information at your fingertips via Algore's internet, this is an easy task.

Please, talk to your neighbors, friends, relatives, even people you hate, tell them to NOT LET THE MEDIA PICK THE CANDIDATES THIS ELECTION SEASON.  Enough is enough my fellow Grassroots Troopers, time is running out!

Divide and conquer.  That is the methodology to defeating a foe which is organized and formidable, correct?  Well, I'm sick of all this talk which divides conservatives according to various criteria because I believe it is being engineered to conquer us next November.

If you're a devout follower of God, you must be a religious conservative.  If you don't necessarily go to church but believe in a traditional family unit, you must be a social conservative.  Perhaps you could care less about God and family but you're sick and tired of all this spending, then you're a fiscal conservative.  I've even heard some talking heads label those pesky, annoying "flag wavers" as patriotic conservatives.  Enough is enough for crying out loud with all the ways to split us up!!  So as of now, to counter this potentially damaging trend, I am going to introduce a new demographic for us to concentrate on.

It is simply this:  Are you a TRADITIONALIST or not?   That is the question for you to ponder this day.  Do you watch an episode of "Leave it to Beaver" and think of a time when the family unit was bedrock solid and people turned to their family before the omnipotent government?  Do you stand when the National Anthem is played and take off your hat, maybe get an embarrassing tear in the corner of your eye?  Do you love the thought of a July 4th picnic when baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and even a classic Chevrolet or two make their appearance?  If so, you run the risk of being a traditionalist. 

Now, I know what many of you are thinking:  "Come on Meat and Potatoes guy, all of this stuff you mention is what defines us as conservatives.  What kind of stunt are you pulling?"  I can assure you that I'm up to no stunt.  What I'm trying to do is to get people away from the divisive issues that define conservatism and concentrate on the issues that can unite us as traditionalists.  Do we long for the "old America"?  Up until the mid 1960's, the America we enjoyed was one that boasted personal responsibility as the order of the day and reliance on the family or community to meet our daily needs.  It also encouraged a nationalistic fervor of flag waving that would never be seen again with the possible exception of the few months after 9/11.

We lost our way in the late 60's and spun out of control all through the 70's but for some inexplicable reason, the gyroscope of our country began to right itself in the 1980's.  But alas, the traditional America was lost again to forces who gained control of the country and guess what?  They are making their last stand to do it again by seizing control of policy making at the highest level.  These people are non-traditionalists, indeed.

If there ever was a time for citizens of this country to regain their inexorable desire for traditionalist thinking, it would be now.  Conservatives or not, we want our "old America" back and WE WANT IT NOWWW!

Perhaps you know that Shrill-ary Clinton, the "Artful Dodger" is now against driver's licenses for illegal aliens.  What I'll bet you didn't know is that she has decided to champion a new cause on their behalf.  It seems that many of our new neighbors want to slip the surly bonds and see America from the air.  So, the Clinton camp decided it wouldn't be all that politically unpopular to support pilot's licenses for illegal aliens.  What the heck, you can do alot more damage with a car than a plane right?

In other news, the detestable douchebag from Michigan, none other than Carl Levin, was on Fox News Sunday yesterday still attempting to demagogue the Iraq War.  I told you people that  the dastardly, do-nothing Dems will demagogue this war right up until the very end when they are sent packing in November 2008.  Sen. Levin is still playing the ultimate hypocrite when it comes to criticizing the Maliki government for its lack of political progress.  Hey Carl, what is YOUR Democrat-led Congress getting done these days?  No funding for our troops, no funding for the government and the border is still wide open.  You better get your arse in gear buddy or we'll cut-off your funding!  I just might set some benchmarks for you and if you don't meet them, it's back off to Iraq!  This time with a target on your keester you pot-bellied pipsqueak with the half glasses hanging off the end of your nose!

A closing thought about Juan Williams on Fox News Sunday.  I swear this guy is getting dumber and sounds more idiotic each time he opens his mouth on the "power panel".  He is severely reducing the team's credibility  over there and ruining the overall viewing experience in a way that only a true liberal can do so well.  Left in place for too long, he will achieve results similar to Sam Donaldson on ABC's "This Week" and Dan Rather at CBS.  That is to drive loyal political junkies away to other more coherent and intellectual discussions.

(Note:  The pilot's licenses for illegals claim is INDEED a gag.  Bet you fell for it, right?)

Yesterday we had a small delay on a flight to Saginaw, Michigan so I got on the PA and decided to be my typically sarcastic self, "Folks, the media has been predicting airline delays for the holiday season so I thought we'd take a delay just for the heck of it.  We want the EXPERTS in the media to get it right every once in awhile, don't we?"

You should have heard the clamor in the back of the airplane as I quickly explained that I was only kidding around (which I always do for my own entertainment, mind you) and the delay was a short one because of some "hot bags" which were coming over from a tight connection.  We wouldn't want our valuable customers arriving home without baggage now would we?

I tell this story to highlight the fact that all we hear today on the "boob tube" is prediction of utter disaster in our air transport system and many of my loyal Grassroots Troopers are about to embark on an airborne journey.  Never fear my patriotic, freedom loving Americans, the system will get you to your destination and you might even arrive on time.  IMAGINE THAT!

However, there will be bumps in the road to include a few turbulent bumps as well.  The media is having their yearly free-for-all over airline delays which starts about a week before Turkey Day and ends right around the New Year.  Airline veterans hear the same old stuff and it gets as boring as listening to Hillary Clinton try out her "new" southern accent.

The media isn't telling you anything new, the airline transport system is stretched thin and if something goes wrong, like a wide area of lousy weather, expect things to "go south" right quick!  Tomorrow is forecasted to be ugly and could be a day to make the media deliriously happy as things begin to "meltdown" like Bill Clinton in a Fox News Sunday interview!  Here are some tips for your journey from an absolute idiot who knows nothing about air travel:

1) Bring plenty of stuff to keep yourself entertained.  IPOD and books/newspapers are good to have stuffed wherever you can stuff them.  You can always snag a "USEless Today" in terminals because people leave them strewn around like horse manure (basically what USAToday is.....).

2) Keep an eye on the weather forecasting for hubs you will be flying through and if it looks "dicey" at your time of arrival, think of an alternate plan.  Perhaps you can fly earlier by blasting off from work early or the airline will allow you to route through a different hub.  It's not a good idea to fly off to an airline hub where people are camping out like the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq, think about it.

3) Prepare your brain ahead of time for possible frustrations such as crowded parking lots, check-in areas, airplanes and tarmacs.  There are only so many airplanes and only so many spots in the sky to put them.  When weather moves in, the number of planes that can take-off and land is reduced significantly.  It may seem surprising but this is God's will and not the fault of the gate agent who is only trying their damnedest to make it through another day.

My favorite saying to fellow crewmembers when passengers do silly things is the following and this one is mine: "When people fly, they remember to pack everything ....... EXCEPT THEIR BRAIN."  Please do what you can to make my saying as untrue as possible this holiday season.  Think about the BIG picture, how infinitely complex the system is and how hard the "skeleton crews" are working in an absolutely cut-throat environment to see you to your destination SAFELY.  When a fellow passenger is annoying the living hell out of you, remember they are your fellow American and you have more in common with them than you might think.

I'll be on the road for the Thanksgiving holiday, flying and traveling them friendly skies but I thought I'd leave everyone with some thoughts for Thanksgiving. 

Traditional America is disappearing quicker than you can shake a stick at, but this is one of a few times of the year when traditions still hold on firmly.  Few people know the true significance of Thanksgiving, let me summarize it in a nutshell.

When the Pilgrims came over to this country, they embraced a "utopian" style organization similar to that of a commune.  One where each person would grow their crops, then harvest them and place them in the town square or other meeting place, so that the other citizens could take what they needed.  Share and share alike, awwww, isn't that nice?  Well guess what?  It wasn't nice and they almost starved to death! (See where liberal-style handouts get a society?)

It wasn't until they embraced a capitalistic system and people planted their crops in the pursuit of a PROFIT that the community began to produce.  In fact, once people saw how much money they could make and still get all the things their families needed, the Pilgrims had so much SURPLUS that they began to trade with the local Indians.

Now how many of you folks out there knew that one?  I'll bet not many because it has never been taught in government schools to the best of my knowledge.  Hmmmmm, maybe someone wants to keep it a secret!

P.S.- Don't eat turkey before driving, you could fall asleep at the wheel! :)

Months out of the Clinton presidency, media punditry were searching feverishly for his legacy.  Would it be an economy that in March of 2000 "melted-down" catastrophically and by December was in full recession?  No.  Would it be a pattern of lying to the American people and a conviction for lying under oath that resulted in a shameful last minute plea bargain with independent prosecutor Robert Ray? No.

Sadly, President Clinton found his real legacy on September the 11th as 3,000 Americans died and his hands were forever stained with their blood.  For his repeated inaction in dealing with Islamo-Fascism after numerous warnings, he will forever be branded as the "Father of 9/11" and this is his true legacy.  But ironically, another president found his legacy on that day as well. 

That man was President Bush and since that day, his legacy has been one of ACTION, not cowardly inaction.  He has faced the threat head-on, stating from the very outset that it was HIS responsibility and his responsibility alone to protect the homeland from this new and emerging threat.  As if his job was not difficult enough, he has had to deal with subversive, underhanded liars who seek to destroy him or rob him of credibility at every turn.  These people are shameless scumbags and need to be denounced as the cowards and the charlatans they most certainly are.  President Bush has foiled them at every turn, done what he knows in his heart is the best course of action for the safety of the nation and will let history write his legacy.  By staying the least bit interested in his legacy and being only concerned with the future of our republic, he will achieve one that is kind to him in the end. 

President Clinton was only concerned with legacy and look where the shameless coward ended up!  Suffering internally with guilt, he exhibited a complete lack of composure in September 2006 when he appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace and made a complete fool of himself.  In fact, almost every time he appears in public these days for SHrill-ary, he is being bombastic or otherwise finding it hard to project a favorable demeanor.  This man is a tormented soul folks and there's a singular reason why:  The Father of 9/11 knows his legacy is inaction about terrorism while he was out "catting around" and having a good time in his position of influence and power.  Oh, if he could only turn back the clock and do things differently but he cannot. 

 

Let the tragedy that is Bill Clinton's life be a lesson to all of us and our children as well.  There is no turning back the clock for any of us.  Do it right when you have an opportunity to do it the first time or don't apply for the job in the first place!

The Democrat party of today is not the party of John F. Kennedy and Henry "Scoop" Jackson, we all know that to be true.  Today's Democrat constituency is made up primarily of liberals but do most people know that they can be split into two separate and distinct groups?  It is essential for Grassroots Troopers to know this as they work their very best to awaken America so that it can be saved before time runs out.

I-Libs (I for Ignorant):  This group makes up about EIGHT-FIVE percent of the liberals who vote for Democrats.  Simply put, these people are liberal because of what they DON'T KNOW as opposed to conservatives who believe so strongly in freedom and limited government because of what THEY DO KNOW!  More on these dunderheads in a moment because they are the biggest and most important group.

C-Libs (C for counter-culture):  The poster child for this group is the Clintons, of course.  These are the 60's kids and consist of many radicals who seek a New American order of socialism or "soft communism" to be infused into American society at virtually every level.  Our educational and governmental institutions are infested with these counter-culturalists, sad to say.  They are policy makers who aim to produce rules and regulations which make Americans as susceptible as possible to control by the "state".

Frankly, I could care less about the C-Libs except when it comes to keeping them in the minority so they can go loony-tunes and make complete fools of themselves!  I am most concerned and frustrated with the I-Libs because in many cases, these people are good, patriotic, wholesome Americans.  Problem is, they're ignorant as all get out and that leads them to vote Dumb-O-Crat!  This was made clear on television tonight as pollster Frank Luntz showed members of focus groups after the Democrat debate.  As he made his way down the line asking each potential voter what they thought of the candidates and their performance, I began screaming at my television with frustration.  Predictably, each voter uttered the same silly, vague, feel-good tripe.  Phrases such as:  "he's not real", "she really seems to have a handle on things" and "he doesn't have fire in his belly".   What in the hell does "fire in the belly" mean"?  I thought that was what you got after eating the 5 alarm chili at the chili cookoff with your local fire department! 

My fellow Grassroots Troopers, this country is positioned on the precipice to disaster with mounting fiscal challenges that make our present national debt look paltry in comparison.  Currently, the national debt is at about 9 trillion dollars.  Our future unfunded mandates for social security and medicare costs (which have to be paid at some point) put our debt at more like SEVENTY TRILLION DOLLARS!!!  Meanwhile, our manufacturing has blasted off for the Far East to bolster a communist country which doubles in size every seven years!  We are in the bottom of the 9th inning folks, the bases are loaded and the count is 3 and 2.  Now what are we going to do about it?  WE NEED TO WAKE THESE DUNDERHEADED DOUCHEBAGS UP IF IT IS THE LAST  THING ALL OF US DO!  So, get out there and take 'em to task.  When you hear some potential Dumb-O-Crat voter uttering the same silly platitudes I mentioned earlier, ask them why they feel the way they do.  Then engage them on the issues I spoke of just now.  Watch them squirm as you embarrass the living dogsqueeze out of them.  Then tactfully suggest (you don't want to end up in a fistfight, of course) that they inform themselves.....PRONTO!

We have only one year until we go to the ballot box and wage a fierce battle against the TRUE ENEMY within our own borders.  That enemy will not compromise and certainly will not back down, it can only be vanquished as it was in 2000 and 2004.  The counter-culturalists inside our own borders will stop at nothing to bring about a radical and total restructuring of this country that will make you look back someday and say "what the hell happened?"  In some cases, the restructuring has already begun, let's work together to stop it DEAD in its tracks so that all of us may benefit in the long-term.

I know it seems too good to be true but I just heard Harry Reid on CSPAN using the "Q" word.  That's right, the same as "Silly Billy" Richardson on Fox News Sunday last week.  Come to think of it, what left-wing coward are they going to get on FNS this week?  I hope nobody!

The point is clear folks, the Democrats are going to lie and demagogue this war right up until they are voted back into the minority again and cast into irrelevance for another 12 year stint.  Democrat and Demagogue, both start with "Dem".  Coincidence, I think not!  How sweet it is....  See, this is what happens when you bet against your country and its military.  You end up looking like that idiot coward "Truth Teller" who posts on this site!  Can you imagine being that poor idiot?  The worst punishment you could have would be to have that douchebag as your roomate.  I should know because I just kicked a socialist, America hater out of my house in September!  I'm not kidding folks, the column on that little fiasco will be a humdinger and it's RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!

Bill Richardson, who next to Joe Biden may just be the dumbest man to win election to public office, took a page out of the Ted Kennedy playbook this Veteran's Day.  How so, you may ask?

By claiming in the same old, tired fashion that Iraq is a "quagmire".  Hey Bill, little news flash for you.  Mister Manslaughter used that line about two, maybe three years ago and it didn't work.  So, what makes you think that it will work now, you idiot?  Any objective analyst admits that the surge has worked.  Troop casualties are at their lowest levels in over two years and al-Qaeda has fled Baghdad with their tail between their legs.  Bombings and other violent incidents are down by EIGHTY PERCENT!  You need to read the paper, bud.

So why is "silly Billy" making this ineffectual attempt to undermine recent success in Iraq?  Well, first of all Bill Richardson is a typical cowardly, mendacious Democrat.  This guy is a "Clinton-ista" from the word go and is as slippery as any political "eel" in the pond.  Secondly, you have to look at the audience that he is catering to during this primary season.  Remember the "meat and potatoes saying" for Democrats:  "Stupid ignoramuses have to belong to something right?"  Well Slick Willie Number Two knows that most of the audience is not paying attention to reports from Iraq and is either tuned in to Fox NFL Sunday or The View.  Thus, lying to them is easier than shooting fish in a barrel.

If Richardson does make it any further than the third tier of candidates, these soundbites will come back to bite ole "silly Billy" right on his big, fat keester!

If there's one thing that embarrasses us usually proud East Tennesseans, it is the mendacious diatribe of that "Inconvenient Windbag" from Carthage, Tennessee.  Yes, I'm talking about Al Gore folks.  This guy gives all of us a bad name but wait a minute....  Didn't he REALLY grow up in Washington, D.C. in some boarding school while his pappy was serving in the U.S. Senate and busy voting AGAINST Civil Rights legislation? hahaha

In any event, you might not know it but your lead Grassroots Trooper actually has a soft-spot in his heart for the environment.   No, no....not a nut who goes overboard but someone who thinks deeply about ways we can all do our part to preserve the sanctity of our planet for future generations after we are all long gone.  A few years ago when I wrote my monthly column called "A View Through These Two Eyes", I espoused thoughts for an "environmentally friendly" future.  Read on from almost 11 years ago and see if they make sense to you!

Not too long ago, "mountains" began to pop up all over Westfield.  Did you catch a glimpse of them?  Mountains constructed not of stone but of junk!  Old tires, batteries, broken lawn chairs, abandoned toys and the like.  It was "bulk trash disposal" time in Westfield.  A festival, celebrated once every 10 years or so, where it's not uncommon to have people from neighboring towns either removing your former treasures or adding to the pile!

At its peak, the piles were so high on some street corners that you couldn't see oncoming traffic.  One would have to either play "Russian Roulette" or get out of their car, run to the street corner and check if the coast was clear.  I personally found this humorous while at the same time gratifying because it validates my belief that we live in a disposable society.  A society filled with many low-quality items that are purchased for the short-term and then thrown away.  How about the disposable camera:  point, shoot and throw away, or the silly styrofoam cooler that makes a one-way trip to the beach.  In our quest to save time and money, we've allowed conservation to take a back seat to convenience on a regular basis.

Now don't get me wrong here!  When you mention conservation, people automatically think:  "Look out!  Tree hugger on the approach..."  Not quite!  You won't find this proud conservative chaining himself to a logging truck anytime soon.  Rather, I prefer to take a practical or more common sense approach to environmental issues such as recycling and conservation.  This method views EVERYTHING exclusively from a standpoint of efficiency.  For example, it makes absolutely no sense to throw things in a landfill that can be reused or recycled, just as it makes no sense to leave lights on in a room that nobody occupies or roar up to a red light at 60 mph only to slam on the brakes!

Remember that annoying little piece of legislation called the "Bottle Bill"?  Sure, everyone moaned and groaned about it back in 1983 but this was a great common sense approach to reducing litter on the streets.  Of course, it should have been applied to ALL beverages, not just carbonated ones.  Years ago, there must have been a sign on my stretch of road that read:  "Please deposit cans and bottles at the base of the next hill."  That would explain why so many found their way in front of my house.  Perhaps the passing folks knew it was my chore to go out and pick them all up!  Thirteen years later, you'd be hard-pressed to find more than a can or two and even those don't last long.

The success of the Bottle Bill gave way to bigger recycling programs of the 1990's and these programs are doing great!  Again, we moan and groan about washing out the containers and placing them in a separate location but deep down we can feel good about doing our part.  We're all banding together to keep "Mount Trashmore" down the street from growing too quickly!  The recycling effort is continually changing with new methods and better technologies being put to good use.  One idea would be to RE-USE rather than recycle certain containers by bringing them back to the store when you go shopping.  Items such as dishsoap, laundry detergent and motor oil could be refilled from 55 gallon drums and then brought through the check out lines.  That way, they don't even end up in the recycling bin. 

One item that isn't recycled and seems to be taking over the world is plastic wrap! It's everywhere, on everything, takes hundreds of years to disintegrate and it bothers me!  Next time you go shopping, take a look at how much plastic wrap is on the things you purchase.  Then, you might just carry it out of the store in plastic bags.  The store will automatically bag in plastic because it is cheaper and quicker (i.e. convenient).  I've gotten a few dirty looks when I request "Paper, please".  The paper bags may be a little harder to carry but they make great trash can liners!  Now you might be thinking to yourself, "the stores will take back the plastic bags and recycle them".  True, but how many people will take the time to collect them and bring them back?  Isn't it more convenient to just throw them in the trash?

Well, I mentioned conservation earlier and up to now, haven't written much about it.  In my view, conservation is not just turning off light switches or tuning up the family truckster.  It has to do with your "Junk Production Factor" (JPF).  Everyone has the capacity to produce junk but some people have a much higher output level than others!  A high "JPF" means you have to send more stuff to the dump and replace things more often.  This consumes both raw materials and landfill space, plus it gives China more ability to make more profit on stuff it imports to the USA.  When I was younger, my ability to produce junk was way off the scale!  I've been able to get it under control in recent times by learning to buy items for the long-term and look for HIGH QUALITY when I do so.  If something breaks, I always try fixing it before giving it the "heave-ho".  Perhaps you can think of a time where you bought a low quality item to save a few bucks and it fell apart.  Next time that happens you can think to yourself, "Aw geez, I'm producing junk again, this is really gonna bump up my JPF!"

Sadly, the "mountains" around Westfield are gone now.  They've all been hauled away by truck somewhere to a place that is no doubt, quite crowded!  Something tells me that in a few years, they'll be back again, bigger than ever.  Full of the usual:  old tires, batteries, lawn chairs and perhaps an old Snake-Light, Tickle-Me-Elmo or Nintendo 64, whose time has come and gone.

Folks, your humble correspondent at the Meat and Potatoes Blog is practically coughing up a lung as I finally got around to viewing the "How do we beat the beeotch?" video on YouTube.  Please, if you do one thing this day, go and view the video about 10 times.  The more you view it, the more you will catch little comments in the crowd and the more you will laugh your posterior silly!  I'm here sweating my buns off because of the raucous laughter that I have enjoyed.  Heartfelt thanks to the lady in SC who furnished a moment that will live time immortal.

I'm reminded of a previous moment in American history where SHrill-ary was referred to in the same vernacular.  I believe it was 1995 and Newt Gingrich's mother was being interviewed by none other than CBS starlet, Connie Chung.  Oh, those were the days my friends.  The mainstream media libs ruled the roost and Connie and Dan were side by side, making the world safe for all of humanity.  Don't ask me why my memory is so crisp but I can almost see Connie lean over to Mrs. Gingrich and say "Just between you and me, what did Newt call her?"  Of course, Newt's mom bought the lie and uttered the same word we hear today at a John McCain campaign rally.  The resulting firestorm cost Chung her job if my "elephant-like" memory serves me correctly. 

You know, I think we may have stumbled upon a GREAT campaign commercial to oppose SHrill-ary in 2008.  Let's play the video of Mrs. Gingrich whispering into Chung's ear and then play the video of the woman from the McCain campaign stop.  Follow it up with a voiceover which says:   "Hillary Clinton then and now:  The question isn't whether or not she's still a beeotch, the question is how are we going to beat her?"

So why is "silly Billy" making this ineffectual attempt to undermine recent success in Iraq?  Well, first of all Bill Richardson is a typical cowardly, mendacious Democrat.  This guy is a "Clinton-ista" from the word go and is as slippery as any political "eel" in the pond.  Secondly, you have to look at the audience that he is catering to during this primary season.  Remember the "meat and potatoes saying" for Democrats:  "Stupid ignoramuses have to belong to something right?"  Well Slick Willie Number Two knows that most of the audience is not paying attention to reports from Iraq and is either tuned in to Fox NFL Sunday or The View.  Thus, lying to them is easier than shooting fish in a barrel.

If Richardson does make it any further than the third tier of candidates, these soundbites will come back to bite ole "silly Billy" right on his big, fat keester!

I'm just about to projectile vomit my morning coffee as I listen to this sophomoric reporter Jamie Dupree make one apology after another for the Clinton campaign.  Does anyone out there listen to this shameful excuse for a reporter on Capitol Hill?  There's gotta be one out there, I guess.  Well today's "Jamie Schmack pack" claims that there could have been no coordination between the Clinton campaign and Eliot Spitzer's recent announcement that driver's licenses will NOT be given to illegal aliens.  How does he know?  Reporter's intuition I guess.

The reporter with a "restrictor plate" in his sinus cavity also claims that illegal immigration is not a big deal in the Democrat primary season!  See what I mean folks, this Dupree guy IS a douchebag!  I wrote the same thing months ago about him, here's that little gem, trust me you'll snicker!

A 21 year old girl named Jennifer Lowe was mauled to death by 2 pitbulls in Knox County last week as terrified neighbors called their gallant defenders, the local deputy sheriffs.  As the girl was torn apart by the dogs and their coats became soaked with blood, a witness to the attack called 911 repeatedly to see when help would arrive.  After making a FUEL STOP in his cruiser, the deputy showed up 29 minutes later.  Do you think this is plenty of time for two viscious dogs to destroy a living, breathing human being?

Now this is not an indictment of the police force but it is about the police forces in America and how anyone who relies on them for protection is betting their life on a "wing and a prayer".  There are questions in this case that concern the Knox County Sheriffs.  Why is an officer stopping for gasoline during his shift?  Shouldn't the car be topped off with fuel at the beginning of a shift and surely a 15 to 20 gallon tank can last for an 8 or 10 hour shift?  Of course, the way i see police officers driving nowadays, I have my doubts!  Plenty of "jackrabbit" starts, roaring up to red lights to slam on the brakes and speeding along without emergency lights going.  When gas is selling for 3 dollars PLUS a gallon, we all need to tighten our belts.  Government officials would be best advised to start tracking average gas mileage figures for police officers who are not the least bit concerned with paying for gas that comes at the expense of taxpayers.  But I digress.....

The point here is easily made by a quote from a past column you will certainly remember, as you are no doubt a "Meat and Potatoes Loyalist".  In May of 2007 you may remember a woman being manhandled and harassed by a Hillsborough County sheriff named Kevin Stabins, here is what I said:

"It saddens me to see the law enforcement profession go down the toilet as one idiot after another makes a mockery of a once honorable profession.  American citizens used to view officers of the law as the "knights in shining armor" who would protect them from the injustices in our society.  Nowadays, people see themselves as the LAST LINE OF DEFENSE and police are an intermediary force who they HOPE to trust and rely on, IF they get there in time!"

This case of poor Jennifer Lowe UNDERSCORES what I said in May.  YOU ARE THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE FOR YOUR FAMILY!  The Founding Fathers knew this and wrote the Second Amendment to allow you the option of owning a firearm.  Each time you hear some weak-kneed liberal spout off about how the Second Amendment only applied to guns for members of a militia, you look them in the eye and say "Why don't you go tell that to the family of Jennifer Lowe, in Knoxville, Tennessee?"  A law abiding citizen with a gun could have saved that girl's life just like one could have saved many lives at Virginia Tech in April.  THINK ABOUT IT!
