It has been announced that if Obama is elected, he will appoint John Edwards to a position as "Family Values Czar".  Also, the Meat and Potatoes Blog is recommending that the Democrat party do a "philandering trifecta" at the convention with speeches by Clinton, Edwards and Jesse Jackson.  They could each discuss the break-down of the American family and how moral relativism has made its contribution.

Heck, throw in former NY governor Eliot Spitzer and they can include the perils of prostitution as well!

Last week Obama made a speech where he admitted that he doesn't look like presidents of yesteryear.  He even went so far as to say that he didn't look like the presidents on dollar bills.  I made the joke:  "Of course he doesn't look like President George Washington.  Washington's ears weren't nearly big enough to make him look like Dumbo the Elephant!" (smiles)  Putting humor aside, I have a serious question to ask each of my Meat and Potatoes Loyalists.  Why is Obama continuously bringing up race in this race?  He did it months ago with the line about how his grandmother was a "typical white person" and he's still doing it today.  I don't hear McCain talking about race but a whit!  With the exception of some tongue-in-cheek humor, I hear McCain talking about ISSUES, like a candidate should!  Obama, on the other hand has been obsessed with the racial aspects of this campaign and it gives legitimacy to a column I wrote months ago about how sad it is to realize that for the black community, this race is about only 2 things:  race and blind loyalty to the Democrat party.  The black community in this country needs to do some serious introspection and is badly in need of a reformation.

If Obama and his "patriotic" pastor Jeremiah Wright have taught us anything, it is that blacks in this country are still very bitter and have a deep-seated resentment for America.  Now, anyone knows that bitterness and resentment lead to hatred over the long-term.  Bitter people tend to feel disconnected and are much more likely to engage in behavior that could be classified as misanthropic.  An example of misanthropic activity would be carjacking a young couple, killing them both and dismembering the bodies after performing sexual acts on them.  Funny how this crime, committed in Knoxville, TN will not be classified as a "hate crime" since the victims were white.  You probably never even heard of this crime which is currently undergoing prosecution, since the major media outlets were silent about it, in keeping with past form.

As of late, we have a black 4 or 5 year old child on Youtube (video was taken down but available on a seperate site with the link provided here)  http://www.worldstarhiphop.com/videos/video.php?v=wshh1bv10u1Jvw9Is0M6  that threatens to kill President Bush.  ABSOLUTE LUNACY!  The poor little kid didn't come up with crap like this on his own, so who filled his head with it?  Someone who harbors an ideology of hate for either whites or Republicans, that's who!  This is similar to the kind of hatred being taught to young Muslim children in the middle east but they get more creative by using Mickey Mouse, bumble bees and other cartoon characters.

A recent poll of blacks in America found that 75 percent would never vote for John McCain now why is that?  It can't be his fine record of military service and his 5 1/2 years as a POW who was beaten severely in a North Vietnamese prison camp.  It can't be his political policies because they would make any Democrat proud and we know that blacks vote about 93 percent Democrat in EVERY election.

So what else could it be?  It's either the color of his skin or something else.  I'm willing to give the black community the benefit of the doubt and say that they are mostly not racists......I think.  So the only remaining reason that 3/4 of them would never vote for John McCain is the fact that he as an "R" next to his name.  That's right, Mister Meat and Taters is asserting that blacks have a dislike for John McCain purely because he is a Republican, regardless of whether it's in name only.

Now why is it that blacks have such a distaste for Republicans?  Is it because Republicans stand for personal responsibility and not abandoning your children before they are born?  Is it because Republicans support rugged individualism and entrepeneurship that make small businesses run?  Could it be that Republicans typically have a belief in religion as a foundation for the morals which keep our society from devolving into animalistic behavior?  I doubt it because anyone of reasonable sensibilities knows that the 3 "biggies" I listed are admirable precepts and we should feel lucky to have leaders who believe in them!  So what else could be the reason that blacks have such a staunch dislike for Republicans?  I don't think the black community truly knows.  Could the real reason simply be........IGNORANCE?

If this election is teaching us anything, it is that the black community in this country is in need of a major reformation.  Obama claims that he stands for "change you can believe in".  Well that change better start in the black community and it better start soon or we're all doomed.

Everytime I watch "Gladiator", I'm reminded of America today.  I see people filling the stands of the Colliseum to watch gladiators battle to the death and think of the millions of Americans tuning into UFC pay-per-view.  If you have any knowledge of the Roman Empire's demise, it's hard to not consider our future as well.  That future should make all of us take pause and seriously think.

The Roman Empire collapsed because it failed to anticipate how small challenges in the present would grow quickly into insurmountable problems of the future.  Their Senate was largely dysfunctional, corrupt and did not have the best interests of the republic at heart.  Any of this sound the least bit familiar?

Let's see, social security set-up in the 1930's when people died at 58 and never collected the benefit.  Medicare set-up in 1965 as an expansion of the welfare state and scheduled to go absolutely bankrupt in 20 to 30 years.  Immigration gone wild with 15 to 20 million illegal aliens roaming the countryside.  Our dollar falling like the "Tower of Terror" ride at Disney World in Orlando.  Energy costs that are threatening the airlines, trucking and decimating the U.S. auto industry.  HAD ENOUGH SMALL CHALLENGES IN THE PRESENT YET?

Now let's get to the U.S. Senate, a more perfect example of dysfunctionality I couldn't find if my life depended on it.  Did you know, that the Democrat controlled (since January 2007) Senate killed any chance of addressing our massive energy costs for the rest of the summer?  These spendthrifts adjourn TODAY and will be off until well after your kids are completely fed-up with school!  Republicans brought forth numerous bills to authorize oil drilling offshore and in Alaska but Democrat leaders sent them to the shredder.  Now everything is on hold until September 8th at the earliest.  So, all oil speculators who make money on oil futures know it's "open season" until then.  Hope you like 4 dollar a gallon gas because it will be sticking around awhile longer. :-)

Folks, I may not be the brightest bulb in the package but I AM a thinker!  I'm always ruminating about where we are now and where we are headed into the future.  While I feel discomfort with where we are today, it's an absolute picnic compared to where we are headed unless we do something this November.

Ludacris' buddy Obama is right, we DO NEED CHANGE.  We need a change to leaders who put the best interest's of America at heart and who believe in  freedom as espoused in the U.S. Constitution.  We don't need panderers who float the idea of taking away oil company profits to give out $1,000 checks to each person.  Will someone please show me in the U.S. Constitution where it says government can confiscate "excessive profits" to redistribute them to the public-at-large?
