Conservative leaders have said for ages that the leftists who desire to transform American society will always show us who they fear the most. In the mid-60's it was Barry Goldwater who struck fear into the heart of that "communist" Lyndon Johnson. LBJ neutralized the Goldwater threat with the now infamous "Daisy Ad" which is on Youtube if you've never seen it.
Right now the target in the leftists' gunsights is Rick Santorum and with good reason. His momentum is building with 3 massive wins in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado. Nevermind these are 3 hugely liberal states that have a record of giving us hard-left politicians in Washington DC (Franken, McCaskill, Salazar) the fact remains that Santorum cleaned his opponents' clocks in all three. He will be perfectly positioned for a "Southern Sweep" in the coming weeks. You may remember me saying in the past: "Only the south can save this country from collapse because it is the land of conservatism." Take a look at the red/blue maps since the south got over slavery and you'll see a steady trend towards conservative Republican candidates with time. Case in point, Tennessee voted for Goldwater and Nixon in the 1960's, Reagan in the 1980's and Bush in the 2000's. We also soundly rejected "Dumbo the Destroyer" in 2008 by a wide margin. :-)
Santorum needs to get out there and pound in the following message: "Material possessions are nothing without FREEDOM!" Whether it be through strangling government edicts, punishing taxes or a steadily devaluing currency, none of us are truly free anymore. Unless perhaps we live out in the sticks and run a self-sufficient farm like "Little House on the Prairie"! But what fun would that be? I sort of like modern conveniences, running water and electricity! Would we have those if everything collapses due to fiscal irresponsibility on the part of our bloated, incompetent and corrupt federal government? hmmmm
The south is widely populated by rugged individuals like the Ingalls family in "Little House". I was just out for a drive yesterday to look at 40 acres of property up along Clinch Mountain in northeastern Tennessee. Almost every home had woodburning stoves going and piles of wood, freshly chopped in their front yards. Now who was it that chopped all this wood and why did they do it? The rugged, self-reliant individuals out chopping all this wood (to stay warm) will be the same people who vote for Rick Santorum. They may not fully understand how government works but they know it has become far too intrusive and they want it OUT OF THEIR LIVES!
America must "Default to Freedom"! This SHOULD become the rallying cry of the Santorum Campaign as they ready themselves to sweep across the south in March. Tennessee: The state that saved the nation in 2000 by rejecting Al Gore, votes along with Georgia on "Super Tuesday" (March 6th) and I can't wait to see the results.
