Rumors are afoot today in the talkradio world that Obama is set to unleash the "Mother of all Stimulus Programs" soon with a "mortgage amnesty" offering for underwater homeowners. You may recall that there have been attempts in the past to help troubled homeowners but this bail-out would be more akin to....ummm...BUYING THEIR FREAKING HOUSE FOR THEM.
Shortly after taking office and creating "deficits you can believe in", Obama offered up one bail-out after another to public sector unions, auto worker unions and anyone else who reliably votes democRAT. The one group he could only mildly help was homeowners. After all, these people don't always vote democRAT. Thus, Obama offered up the half-hearted HAMP program which gave assistance to those whose circumstances were extremely dire.
Now, in a battle for his own political survival, Obama is dying to create the "HAMP Gone Wild" where anyone with a pulse can qualify for a home loan bail-out. Here's how it would work: People with homes "underwater" and only 3 months behind on their mortgage payments would apply for FREE MONEY, freshly printed by our "Buddy Ben Bernanke" at the Federal Reserve. Can you say "more inflation"?
First it was Bill Clinton in 1995 with "home loans for anyone with a pulse" and now it's "home loan BAIL-OUTS for anyone with a pulse", what will these democRAT-socialists think of next? :) A better question would be: What is it about self-reliance and rugged individualism that scares democRATs soooo much? I will ponder that while I go off to view another luscious East Tennessee sunset....
