Perfect way to celebrate "Armistice Day"....

Some may call it Veteran's Day but I call it by the original title: "Armistice Day".  This gives the day its special historical significance as an end to the vicious brutality which characterized World War I, in 1918.

One month before the signing of the armistice at the "Eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month..." Army Major Charles Whittlesey and his battalion fought a week long battle for survival in the extremely rugged Argonne Forest of France.  As they found themselves surrounded by a superior German force, the American "doughboys" were only offered two options by their foe: Be killed or surrender immediately.

In the tradition of rugged individualism and creativity which has always characterized the American spirit, Whittlesey and his men chose a third option the Germans never dreamed of....they chose to FIGHT!

Commemorate "Armistice Day" in style by watching Rick Schroder star in "The Lost Battalion".  Available on Youtube right now.  How do I know?  Because I spent the morning watching it! :-)
