Our "Crimson Tide Moment" is upon us I fear

Very few people read this blog but I post to it nonetheless.  Why? Because I care about the country's future and I see an almost certain painful doom on the horizon.  Just imagine for a minute if you can, the economic devastation we'll have to endure when the US dollar suddenly loses confidence with the rest of the world.  Imagine waking up tomorrow to find out there's been a massive sell-off by the Chinese and Japanese due to some event beyond anyone's control.  Instantly panic ensues, stores are stripped of the stocks on their shelves as people invariably begin to hoard.  Forward thinking individuals who have stockpiled popular consumer goods begin to participate in an ad hoc "Black Market" where simple items like shampoo become so expensive, we now consider them luxuries.

It won't be a pretty sight, will it?  The reality today is that America has come upon its "Crimson Tide Moment" where we must take the steps necessary to keep our "ship" from sinking financially.  Hopefully, you'll remember one of my favorite movies starring Gene Hackman, Denzel Washington and George Dzundza.  A nuclear ballistic missile submarine, the USS Alabama has been temporarily disabled in a fight with a Soviet attack boat and is slowly sinking towards its crush depth.  As water is filling the aft bilge bay of Alabama, an order is given to Rick(y) Schroder, playing the part of LT Hellerman: "Now seal that GD (bilge) bay...before WE ALL GO DOWN!"

Imagine being that young officer, looking into the flooding bilge bay and seeing YOUR men down there, having to make a crucial choice as to what's MOST IMPORTANT.  Then having to close the heavy, iron door and rotate the locking dogs into place as the water begins spraying out in all directions.  Not a pretty sight, once again.

The metaphor of this poignant scene from "Crimson Tide" is absolutely perfect for America.  Our national debt is increasing in exponential fashion with each passing year, just look at a graph if you don't believe me.  Our unemployment, lack of productivity and trade deficit are all at dreadful levels.  Our Federal Reserve is printing so much money to cover bailouts that INFLATION is on everyone's mind.  The price of GOLD and SILVER have set records that will seem like a bargain in a few months from now.

The "gargantuan juggernaut" we call a Federal Government must be reigned in and cut-back massively in the next Congress. PERIOD!  When the caterwauling begins from "demagogue-crats" and their willing accomplices in our corrupt media, these new Tea Party electees must step up and use the "Crimson Tide Moment" analogy.  Believe me, people will get it because the analogy is a damn good one!

This government has tried to be ALL things to ALL people since 1933.  Since then, we have destroyed the value of our currency and it has lost 90 percent of its value.  The conclusion is clear and convincing:  If ALL people (except for those not bodily able) do not begin to FEND FOR THEMSELVES, the nation will sink just like the USS Alabama and we will all drown in a "sea of limitless poverty".
