A periodic bout of insomnia struck last night so I flipped on the "tube" just in time to catch a trendy and entertaining show on Fox News Channel called "RedEye". Meat & Potatoes Loyalists will recall from past entries that I'm a big fan of the show and its host Greg Gutfeld. Let me give you a classic line from the show that had me on the verge of coughing up a lung!
As Gutfeld was introducing a comedian on the show: "He's funnier than a mime being bludgeoned to death by a bunch of Keebler elves."
The episode was an excellent one as it featured George Wendt (Norm on "Cheers") and Ann Coulter but the best part for me was a commercial featuring a small business in Cullman, Alabama that buys, sells and moves mobile homes. Notice I did not say "trailers"! :-) Today, I found the same commercial on Youtube and have watched it about 10 times now. The question is....Why?
I think it's because these people intrigue me. They are an example of the hard working, downhome patriots who toil away in small businesses and are being absolutely crushed by the direction President Obama is taking our nation's economy. As Rush Limbaugh would say: "These are the people that make the country work." I call them (to steal a Chevy slogan) "The Heartbeat of America".
Have a gander at some folks in "flyover country" and see if they don't entertain the puddin's out of ya, just like Mr. Meat and Taters!

One final note, I'm willing to bet a dollar to a donut that Mr. Robert Lee is a card carrying NRA member and has a radio nearby tuned to WVNN 770AM in Huntsville. No doubt some trailers, uh I mean "mobile homes" are moved to the melodius voice of Mark Levin!
