Saying that democRATs are the party of compassion and understanding is almost as oxymoronic as calling Islam the "religion of peace" these days. Case in point, Montel Williams telling one of my favorite Congressman on Capitol Hill to "slit your wrist". The story won't get much coverage in the dying, leftist propaganda machine knows as "mainstream media" but it's all over the web (thank God). He said it on his radio show and is no doubt frustrated by Michele Bachmann's insistence that we follow the U.S. Constitution, to the letter!
What you may not hear in the news stories is that Montel Williams is a Naval Academy grad, having graduated with the class of 1980. As such, the young Montel was well schooled on the importance of our nation's Founding Documents. Furthermore, he was taught that free and open debate is absolutely crucial in a representative republic like ours. Does Williams remember these precepts or is he letting "color" cloud his memory? hmmmmm
I would refer the older Montel to page 31 of his "Reef Points" booklet we received during Plebe Summer and concentrate on what it says about the "Concept of Duty" while serving as an officer in the military or as a civilian patriot:
"Duty implies a moral as well as a legal obligation to do what is right....to be held accountable for one's actions. The legal basis for this obligation exists in our Constitution..... The Constitution forms the legal foundation for our free society which guarantees each citizen such basic rights as: freedom of speech.....freedom to assemble, redress of grievances, the right to vote...... The defense of this free society must be assumed by the citizens as a duty to be performed for the common well being of all."
Perhaps Montel threw away the teachings of his "Reef Points" right after he threw up his hat on Commissioning Day. Or maybe he had no character or dignity to begin with, I don't know. Something drew the young Montel into the U.S. Marine Corps and led him to pursue a shot at getting into the academy. I guess he just went loopy along the way, that's all. Maybe it was his bout with cancer?
Loopy or not, I'll tell you something Montel Williams: Your graduation from Annapolis set your life on a path of discipline, achievement and success that led you to where you are today. You've dined at America's table for 50 years and garnered more than your share of the pie. Your success and fame has given you that microphone and now you use it to disrespect yourself and your alma mater? Do you have one shred of dignity left, sir? If so, you'd be ashamed of such hateful spew towards Michele Bachmann. Rep. Bachmann happens to be a principled public servant who believes in Constitutionally-limited government. I adore this woman and never miss her when she's on the Mark Levin Show as a guest. In fact, I've given money to her re-election fights and will continue to give money in the future.
Apologize to Rep. Michele Bachmann NOW Montel or don't bother attending any Naval Academy alumni events.....EVER! We'll turn our backs on you in shame.
