They say history repeats itself folks. Let's take a case in point: Limited warfare being waged by Democrat pacifist pu$$ies in a land far away that contains ruthless enemy combatants who know the mountainous terrain and its tunnel systems by heart. Haven't we seen this flick before? I think it was called "Vietnam", just throw in some jungles and a proxy to feed them weapons!
News is out today that the costs and complexity of fighting "Barack's War", otherwise known as the "War on people who do bad things", could easily top those of Iraq by several multiples. In fact folks, I smell another Vietnam brewing over there. Call me crazy if you must.
Some things to consider.....
1) Afghanistan is truly third world and most of its provinces look like something out of the prehistoric world with NO infrastructure at all.
2) The citizenry are utterly uneducated, they cannot read or write and are destitute.
3) The country has no real productive capacity to fund a military and its only real source of income is opium production which goes to fund terrorist groups including the Taliban.
4) The terrain is as rugged as anywhere on earth, anyone in the military will tell you that terrain complicates military operations immensely!
Not trying to be a kill-joy folks but we were told by the leftists who now control the US military that the REAL war was not in Iraq but in Afghanistan. They better be damn careful not to pull another LBJ/McNamara on us, once was enough! Link to the article:
