Ted Kennedy made a splash

This weekend is the 40th anniversary of Ted Kennedy's famous splash off the bridge at Chappaquiddick.  As Mary Jo Kopechne suffered a slow, agonizing death by asphyxiation in the back of that car, Kennedy walked home with mind racing as to how he would cover his tracks in the ensuing days. A web of lies and pay-offs to the Kopechne family (courtesy of Dad's "rum running") took care of any real punishment in the end, how convenient!

Despite what occured that fateful evening, Kennedy became the patriarch of the Democrat party along with another coward of similar stripes, Bill Clinton.  My, my, how much these two men have in common.  The one difference is that Kennedy is in what I suspect are his final days and he has little time left to atone for his sins.

God is waiting Senator and so is Mary Jo Kopechne.
