Enough with "Whacko Jacko", enough already! The country is melting down under a financial collapse which is being used as a handy excuse by statists to nationalize every damn industry and the media is doing Michael Jackson 24/7. Now, I hear that my favorite on-air sales pitchman Billy Mays has kicked the bucket so the sensationalizing will no doubt continue throughout the weekend. Guess I'll have to wait for "Billy Cunningham Live Every Sunday Night" at 10pm on WNOX for some substantive political commentary. Can I make it?
Why is it that our media gets this myopic preoccupation with a celebrity death or a political infidelity? Can't they cover more than one story at a time? Heck, they're so obsessed with this Michael Jackson story that poor Farrah is being given the cold shoulder. She was a Charlie's Angel for crying out loud and her poster graced one wall of my backyard "fort" for years until my parents tore it down. She deserved better coverage, in my humble opinion. I wonder what sort of coverage Billy Mays will get? Probably very little, yet his memory will live on with each scoop of "Oxy-Clean" that people shovel into their washing machines.
Be careful out there Vince the "Sham-WoW guy", you could be next! These things "happen in threes" you know....
