The cacophony of concession is in the air folks, from people who are supposedly fighters. One individual who fights ad nauseum for his Fair Tax endeavor (which will never happen, mind you) thinks using a filibuster on Judge Sotomayor just wouldn't be a fair way to fight.
Such misplaced righteous indignation from a man who urges fighting tooth and nail on other issues. Funny how he picks and chooses.
I say fight on every front because the damn country is worth too much to give up! Every single bit of the fight is important and that includes letting a racist statement making, sexist, policy making judge sit on a Supreme Court that has been alarmingly activist! Look at what this woman has said in her public statements and ask yourself this question: Would a defense attorney even allow her on a jury in light of her beliefs? The answer is no. So why then, would we let her adjucicate cases which affect all of us?
Just look at the rulings over the past few years by what I've called an "out of control, ROGUE court". We had the Kilo v. New London case where the court ruled that a local municipality can rob you of your personal property rights by taking your property and giving it to a developer (in cahoots with local government, of course). We also had the Massachusetts v. EPA case where 5 of the justices decided they would like to work for the Weather Channel and become meteorologists. They declared that carbon dioxide is causing that evil known as "global warming" (BARF!). Top it all off with the DC v. Heller case last year where we JUST BARELY got a verdict that decided the 2nd amendment was an individual right for each one of us law abiding Americans. This should have been a 9-0 victory!
Folks, I'm going to say it again that recent proof is clear. This Supreme Court is only supreme when it comes to one thing: Taking away your freedoms and liberties by being ACTIVIST IN NATURE!! Throwing in a leftist like Sotomayor is only going to make things worse for us during the very trying years ahead. Republicans with any cajones need to give Democrats a dose of their own medicine with regard to the way past judicial nominees have been treated. FILIBUSTER, FILIBUSTER AND FILIBUSTER SOME MORE!!!
If you have to move cots in like the Mendacious Pipsqueak did about a year ago, then move 'em in on national TV. If you've got to get up and talk about your dog named "Billy" for 18 hours like Robert "the human sleeping pill" Byrd did once many years ago, then do it! The Democrats "let the genie out of the bottle" on this filibustering judicial nominees routine and once the genie is out, he's out dammit! Why should Republicans try to be so prim and proper by setting the bar so much higher than Democrats? I say FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE!!
Just think about this: Has Republican timidity and principled conduct worked in their favor thus far? I see brass knuckled liars who divide everyone based on race, income and class in control of EVERYTHING in Washington, D.C.
Sometimes you have to descend to your enemy's level to battle him effectively, just be careful not to become the monster you face.
