How far have we slid folks, towards the portals of tyranny so that we can never come back? Let me provide you with something from my past which illustrates the slow changes we hardly notice: My American Legion Certificate of School Award from 1980:
"This Certificate of Distinguished Achievement is awarded to 'Mr. Meat and Taters' of Powder Mill School in recognition of attainment acquired as winner of The American Legion School Award. In further recognition of the possession of those high qualities of Courage, Honor, Leadership, Patriotism, Scholarship, and Service which are necessary to the preservation and protection of the fundamental institutions of our government and the advancement of our society.
This award is made by the American Legion Post "338, Southwick, Massachusetts 01077, this month of June, day of the 4th, 1980"

What has happened to our "institutions of government" when they pass spending bills which nobody reads? hmm. What has happened to courage, honor and leadership when people sit back and do absolutely nothing about our government gone wild? This government has gone fascistic while seizing control of any sector of our economy which it deems necessary. Is this not a scary condition?
Think back to 1980 when a young, zit faced, big eared kid got this award. Wasn't government more innocent.....just LIKE this kid??
