Grassroots Troopers face a daunting challenge each and every day. How do we communicate with dunderheads who are either too stupid, lazy, apathetic or ignorant for us to tolerate? We want to just give up at times, reach out and strangle the living crap out of them but we can't do that because after all, they ARE sorry souls and deserve our pity.
So I've come up with an analogy for use in dealing with these rubes. The analogy is so simple and explains in such perfect fashion the situation that confronts America during these dangerous times. I've alluded to it in past columns here at the Meat and Potatoes Blog but have never perfected it, until now that is....
Let's use a common theme from tv, movies and novels: the firefighter turned arsonist. Now please don't be offended you firefighters out there, I'm just using a rogue fireman to make my point. I tried using a politician or lawyer in my analogy but it just didn't work out.
So this fireman sneaks into your home over the course of 70 nights and places things which will burn readily when ignited. Then one day, you arrive home to see it engulfed in flames. You call 911 and guess who shows up? The very same fireman who spent the past 70 nights setting your home up for a weenie-roast extraordinaire. He puts out the fire which by this time has destroyed a significant portion of your beloved home.
A few days later the same fireman stops by and let's you know that he and a few of his friends run a home repair business on the side. They'll fix your place up in a jiffy and you'll be pleased with the results. You agree to their terms and retreat to your own little world in a local hotel, not paying a whit of attention to their construction techniques as you enjoy "American Idol" and other programs.
Finally, home sweet home is completed and you show up for the great unveiling. Much to your shock and horror, the fireman turned arsonist who created the whole mess in the first place, has used this excuse to turn your beloved home into a maximum security prison. Complete with bars on the windows and a 12 foot high fence with razor wire on top. Doesn't this sound like an appealing place to live? No, I don't think so folks, it doesn't sound like a place any one of us in their right minds would want to experience.
Of course, I'm talking metaphorically here but the symbolism is illustrative of what's happened in this country. 70 years ago, Democrat operatives in our government put programs in place which were expanded over time. I'm not going to turn this into a history lesson and you can do your own research but the facts are the facts. Fannie Mae was created in 1938 by FDR, expanded and defended by Democrats such as Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Byron Dorgan, Franklin Raines, Bill Clinton and many others. This incendiary "set fire" to our economy and now guess who runs in to USE IT AS AN EXCUSE TO TAKE EVERYTHING OVER?????
That's right, the trusty "fire department" run by once again, Democrat operatives. They are now busy building a "prison" where private companies, personal wealth and property are controlled. How much control is enough folks? The march to fascism can only occur if good people sit back and do absolutely nothing just like the sorry sucker in my housefire analogy. Please read this analogy a few more times, commit it to memory and use it on your favorite dunderhead at school, work or meeting venue of your choice.
Get out there, wake-up the dunderheads, become a Grassroots Trooper today. The future of freedom and liberty depends on you!
