Back by popular demand, it's the Meat and Taters weekend recap. A thoughtful collection of all the flotsam and jetsam from the week gone by, along with any other useful tidbits I can extract from my ADD plagued cranium.
Two events were seen this week that join together in very scary fashion for Constitutionalists across the fruited the plain. The killing of 4 Oakland, CA police officers by a worthless piece of vermin who will remain nameless. I'm certainly not going to give this guy any more notoriety, even in my puny orb of influence. Take this sad event and combine it with the drug violence raging along the U.S./Mexican border and it sets the stage for insidious, creeping gun-control by the STATISTS who are firmly in control of our government.
Questions for you to ponder this weekend:
1) Who was it that said "we never want to let a good crisis go to waste"?
2) Who was it that said "we are looking at re-introducing the assault weapons ban that was so successful in the 1990's"?
3) Who was it that said "we will keep fighting the NRA, the gun makers, the gun dealers and everyone else"?
Answers: 3 virulent anti-gun zealots in the Obama administration who will seize the events of this past week to advance their agenda!
Rahm Emmanuel never lets a good crisis go to waste when attempting to subvert the United States Constitution, that's for sure. He will be coordinating a package of gun confiscation measures that we shall see very soon. Attorney General Eric Holder, who made his mark by supporting Washington D.C. in the landmark DC v. Heller Supreme Court case, will join the clamor to remove "assault weapons" from the streets in the name of stopping cop killings and drug violence. By far though, the "King Gun Control Zealot" award goes to Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan who proudly stated his crusade against the NRA at an awards dinner in Chicago, IL. Duncan is to gun elimination what Bill Clinton was to philandering, he lives for it! Look for him to tug at America's heartstrings with a familiar disingeuous theme of the leftists: "We're doing this to protect America's children and their valuable future."
Moving along smartly folks, the frightening push towards absolute STATISM was seen with "Turbo-Tax Tim" Geithner's announcement that the Obama administration seeks power to take over any private sector entity it deems out-of-control. The handwriting is on the wall that this administration wants to nationalize the US banking industry without a doubt. But first, the American people must be brainwashed into believing that the private sector is flawed, crooked and irreparably broken! How can statists accomplish such a daunting task?
Remember what I said: The AIG bonuses were put into the stimulus bill ON PURPOSE by order of people in the Obama administration so as to cause the American people to lose faith in the private sector. I have no proof of this mind you yet it all makes so much sense. Christopher Dodd has taken the blame for making the bonuses happen but he comes from a very safe "blue state" in the northeast. What are the chances he will lose re-election folks, seriously? Zip, zero, zilch....notta!
News from the Chinese this week indicates that they are losing faith in the long-term ability of America to pay back its debts. Now, I've been writing about this for over a year. I said specifically that America would come to a point where people would question our ability to repay our debts and stop buying our bonds. Our only option would be to print money like the Weimar Republic (post WWI Germany) and cause rampant inflation that would eventually paralyze our economy. VOILA! People around the globe to include the Chinese and others in the United Nations are causing a clamor to DUMP THE US DOLLAR as the international currency.
The events of this week signal the true beginning of America's fall from international grace. I predict that once inflation begins to ramp up, nations around the globe will be running from the US dollar faster than Tim Geithner runs from his tax accountant! Eventually, countries around the globe will consider the United States to be a bankrupt entity and avoid doing business with us. Unless things change, that is.
