Scary times...wake up and learn.

If you or someone you care about doesn't understand the times in which we live, it's time to grow up and make an honest assessment.  The amount of people experiencing severe economic pain is increasing everyday and soon you will meet people who are feeling it.  I have met no less than 4 people who have lost their homes and several others who are out of work.

The time to prepare yourself is now and part of that preparation is to UNDERSTAND what has been happening in this country for many years.  Once you understand what happened, you can look to history and predict what may likely be coming next.  Remember that history is oftentimes the greatest teacher.  Now, I am by no means a sage but many of my calls over the past 3 years on this polemic pursuit have come to fruition.  Will I tell you which ones were right on target like a cruise missile?  Of course not!  My goal is to get you to go back into my voluminous archives and do some deep reading in your spare time.  So get to it, my fellow Grassroots Troopers but don't worry, I won't send you a bill.  Not yet at least.....haha.

There are several themes in this column (notice I don't use the word "blog" which is anathema to me) when it comes to our economy.  One of them is that government intervention in the private sector causes more problems than it solves.  I've gone over the influence of Clinton's band of snot-nosed children and how they created moral hazard with Fannie Mae home loans for anyone with a pulse.  Well, there's a man out there, much smarter than Mister Meat and Taters who explains it much better than I.  His name?  Peter Schiff and you must listen to this man if you want to survive financially in the times ahead or perhaps even come out on top.

Peter Schiff is an award winning author, economist, Wall Street analyst and stock broker.  Give his dissertation a listen and if you feel it's too full of "gloom and doom" then turn him off.  But you do so at your own economic peril for he knows what he's talking about and his analysis stands the test of historic examination.  Please, if you do anything today on this computer, view this Youtube video from about 5 minutes to 7 minutes on the time counter.  And by the way, to save you some time, fast forward in to 1:40 so you can skip the introduction which is nothing but a waste of time.  You see, I'm not here to waste your time folks, not even 100 seconds of it.  Thank me later!
