Perhaps some of my readers know a young person out there who is trying to figure out the age-old question: "What color is my parachute?" and needs a little bit of guidance. I remember my high school guidance counselor, (a great man by the way) telling me to pursue my dreams and reach for the stars, even if you fall short you'll still achieve success of cosmic proportions. Well, I fell short of the stars and managed to burn up 25 years in the process.
I have valuable advice for the teenager in your life that will help him to avoid the pain some of us had to endure with career exploits. Why not avoid the dislocations, the broken relationships, the decreases in pay, the losses of seniority and occasional unemployed periods that come with career progression? Listen up folks because here comes the advice of a lifetime and best of all, it's free!
There's one color parachute that every teenager can relate to and that is a GREEN one! You want to make "green" right out of the starting gate and make it for life, with a nice, fat pension and other assorted goodies to boot? Then you go to work for GOVERNMENT! That's right folks, you tell that teenager in your life: "the heck with this pursuing your dreams and sacrficing BS!" It's not worth it anymore in the land of "Lord Messiah Barack Obama" and his new 3.6 Trillion dollar budget. We are a socialist country now and the voting populace is responsible for the "Democrat Crazy Train" (DCT) that will ramrod everything through Congress. Thanks alot, you dunderheaded douchebags (Double D's) out there in states like Massachusetts and California.
Elections have consequences folks and the consequence of the 2006 and 2008 elections is this: Democrats control EVERYTHING with marjorities large enough to transform our society. Go back and read my archives over the past 3 years on Town Hall and on Myspace. I've been warning of this ad nauseum, one article in particular "Liberalism: the philosophy of the STUPID....for most", made this point:
"The counter-culturalists inside our own borders will stop at nothing to bring about a radical and total restructuring of this country that will make you look back someday and say 'what the hell happened?' In some cases, the restructuring has already begun, let's work together to stop it DEAD in its tracks so that all of us may benefit in the long-term."
So now, as we witness passage of an 800 Billion package of pay-offs to Democrat buddies, socialized medicine for children coming from families making up to $83,000 a year, a 410 Billion dollar omnibus appropriations bill loaded with 9,000 pork-barrel projects and lastly, a 3.6 Trillion dollar budget which creates over a million new government positions, I ask you this question.........
Where is the opporunity for young people in Barack Obama's "New American Order"? Is it in the private sector with the rest of us in the "new slavery class" who must fund the government machine while working for 50 years without any retirement possibility? No way. The opportunity of the 21st century is found in working for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Tell that to the teenage in your life. And while you're at it, would you also tell that teenager to be nice to any gray-haired, older men who happen to work for them in the same facility?
I want to leave my options open for the future.
