"Obama-nation" strategy: 1992 with a twist.

Wesley Clark's attack on John McCain's record of military service was indeed an "Obama-nation" yesterday and deserves to be addressed as it gives insight to the left's modus operandi going forward into the election season.  Obama Management, Inc. knows they cannot attack McCain directly on his military record (that would be unpatriotic) so that job is left to those scandalous surrogates such as Clark.  Just as Bill Clinton gave politicians a bad name, Wesley Clark gives generals one too.  He's either a liar or lives in his own little world of alternate reality, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and go with the latter.  If he was a liar, it wouldn't be the first West Point grad to gain that distinction, after all it was right here on the Meat and Potatoes Blog that Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) (USMA '71) was ripped into for his behavior as a charlatan about the Iraq War.  Truly shameless how these service academy graduates sell their souls to a leftist movement and place their nation at risk.  Though I'm a nobody, this Annapolis grad will not follow suit!

Clark's attack provides the "twist" to an election campaign that is all too reminiscent of 1992.  In fact, this election year could play the part of a Clinton/Gore sequel almost to a tee.  Why?  Well, let's look at the situation we have at hand.  A formerly good economy that is falling apart at the seams due to forces beyond the president's control.  In 1992, it was the end of the "Cold War" that necessitated a decrease in defense spending and businesses had to re-tool, while this time it is a meteoric rise in the cost of energy.  In either case, the economic pain will be exploited by the Democrat candidate as he spouts off the populist message that "he's for the little guy and the rich need to pay their fare share".  Candidate Clinton did the same thing in 1992 with a popular refrain that was carefully crafted for consumption by Double-D's from sea to shining sea:   "It's the economy stupid!"  Stay tuned for a similar silly slogan in this campaign season, I'm sure a spinmeister at Obama, Inc. is working feverishly on one!

There are other similarities besides the economic circumstances that make this year a dead ringer for the "1992 Redux Award".  Take a look at the candidates themselves.  The McCains are exceedingly wealthy and moderate Republicans at best just as George and Barbara Bush were in 1992.  I have no doubt that McCain could be coaxed into violating a "read my lips, no new taxes" pledge just as Bush 41 was by House Speaker Jim Wright and the rest of his merry cohorts.  On the Democrat side of the ticket, the Obamas are literally carbon copies of the Clintons.  Both have ties to the radical leftist ideologies of Saul Alinsky and have almost no policy differences whatsoever such as in the case of:

1) socialized medicine for all with very minor policy differences
2) illegal immigration- citizenship, handouts and healthcare for all 15 to 20 million illegals
3) treating terrorism as a law enforcement issue which led to 9/11
4) taking over the private sector to make things more fair (oil companies specifically)
5) redistribution of wealth to those who are "less fortunate"
6) espousing counter-culturalist positions on family matters such as marriage and adoption

An even funnier coincidence with the Clintons and Obamas is that the spouse in each case, is the driving force in the advancement of a counter-culturalist agenda.  If elected, we will see Michelle Obama assume the co-presidency mantle just as Hillary did in 1993 when Al Gore's picture was taken down and relegated to a coat-room down the hallway!  Remember that?

Perhaps the scariest similarity to 1992 is the presence of a 3rd party candidate!  Yes, the role of Ross Perot in this year's election sequel will be played by Bob Barr, a former Republican Congressman from Georgia.  Mister Barr is running as the libertarian candidate and his presence will do nothing but help Obama pull off the same "Trojan-horse candidacy" victory that Clinton/Gore pulled off 16 years ago.  Keep in mind that Bill Clinton only got 43 percent of the vote in 1992, while Ross Perot gathered 19 percent.  Even the most liberal political analysts candidly admit that most of Perot's votes would have gone to George H.W. Bush.  Thanks alot Ross, nice work!

So there you have it, enough proof to convince you that it's 1992 all over again.  Except this time, the leftists who infest the Democrat party are in absolute control.  They are maniacal in their lust to gain back control of the White House and will stop at nothing to take McCain out hard-core!  Reports are coming in that left-wing websites are stooping so low as to denigrate his military service while held as a POW in Vietnam.  Some are saying he engaged in illegal bombing runs, committed war crimes and gave up military secrets via taped confessions while held in captivity.  Why would leftists dig deep into such a horrific period of a man's life and float such rumors?  The answer is quite simple.  They know that 5 1/2 years spent being beaten and humiliated is John McCain's "achilles heel" and if they can bring up those memories, perhaps they can bring back the pain.  Bring back the pain and perhaps he can snap like a rubberband wound too tight ...... at a campaign stop, during a televised debate or somewhere else, when a television camera is lying in wait.
