Iran's nuke facilities are TOAST.

Israel is out flying fighter training missions this week that look all too familiar.  In fact, the distances these pilots are flying is 900 miles which happens to be the distance necessary to attack the Iranian nuclear research facility at Natanz.  Perhaps the Israelis are realizing that an Obama presidency is all too real a possibility and with President Bush approaching "lame-duck" status, the time for action is approaching.

I believe President Bush wanted to repel Iranian aggression with a "love-tap" of sorts, maybe take out their lone refinery or give the B-2's a chance to do some target practice at Natanz and would have done it last year.  But along came those beloved subversives who infest all levels of the federal government and they struck with the NIE report last year.  The NIE basically said that Iran had given up the pursuit of making nuclear weapons back in 2003 and most predictably, Demagogue-Crats and their buddies in the media had a field day with the report as they asserted President Bush was simply a "warmonger" who desperately sought an excuse to rattle sabres once again.

I maintain that President Bush could still act because even though he is getting deep into the homestretch, he's still a wartime president and has moral authority on his side.  Iran has been fighting the U.S. covertly in Iraq and their efforts to train and equip fighters, not to mention funnel weapons into Iraq have made this War on Terror much more costly.  The proof is convincing to people who can place ideology aside and make an objective assessment.

With this election season rapidly approaching, President Bush and his advisors may determine that an attack on Iran during the waning months of his presidency is unavoidable.  Surely, an Obama presidency will advocate a policy of understanding and appeasement, this has been made all too clear by Obama himself.  The president may take a line from an Elvis song and decide "Its Now or Never".

Either way, Israel acting solo or America providing some assistance, my feelings are unchanged from a year ago.  Iran must be dealt a punishing blow and their nuclear facilities must become toast!  Here's what I wrote over a year ago in an article titled:  "What does the USA do in a dangerous world?"

What does the USA do in a dangerous world? (7/7/07)
Lately, the world is erupting at every corner it seems.  The middle east has been a major trouble spot for 5 years now but other parts of the globe have been troublesome, yet unnoticed.

Russia has always resented the USA for forcing freedom down its throat during the 1980's and has been working behind the scenes with China, France and others to undermine the USA's authority.  Even worse, China who holds a great deal of financial leverage over the USA (by financing our debt), has been playing footsies with North Korea as it's nutcase of a dictator works towards getting nuclear ballistic missiles.

But by far, the worst player of all is Iran.  Iran's fingerprints are on almost every terrorist plot, they have supplied weapons to Syria, to the Hezbollah and to the terrorists flowing through porous borders into Iraq.  The leaders of Iran, who make Hitler look like a girl scout, have made crystal clear their intention to gain nuclear weapons, destroy Israel and then turn their sights towards the "Great Satan" itself, the United States of America.

What does President Bush do in such a situation?  Well, let's apply a real world situation that any one of us could face tonight.  You're out at a local watering hole having a "couple of pops" when you suddenly find yourself surrounded by several threatening reprobates whose only intention is to beat the pulp out of you.  You look at your buddy, he looks at you and you both realize that things are about to get really nasty.  What do you do?

I remember hearing this story once from a friend of mine, who is very adept at finding trouble when it suits him!  He told me, you pick out the biggest, toughest, most threatening individual and you TAKE HIM OUT, no questions asked!  The others will see it and think twice about getting involved.  The handwriting is on the wall folks, question is when are we going to start reading it?
