"Mark Levin Show" caller displays Democrat fears

On Friday's episode of the Mark Levin Show, guest hosted by Mark Simone, a call was taken by an individual known only as Jim from Westchester.  If you'd like to listen to this call before reading my column, please go to the following web address and move the "slider bar" to 21 minutes into the show, which is the approximate location of where this dunderheaded dufus makes his gala appearance:

This call is highly illustrative of what we are up against with this national energy crisis!  We have hopelessly ignorant people out there who have constructed an "alternate reality" in their own minds about this crisis, its causal factors and its remedies.  Listen to the progression of deductive reasoning Simone attempts with this guy and be amazed at how he absolutely ignores it!!!  Right from the start, he shows how woefully ignorant he is about American government when he attempts to blame the Republican-controlled Congress for Clinton's veto of the 1995 authorization to drill in Alaska.  The only thing a Congress can do when faced with a Veto is to attempt an override yet it takes 67 votes in the Senate, a 2/3 majority to do so.  This is next to impossible and has only happened on rare occasions.  Heck, the Senate can barely get 51 votes most of the time (a simple majority), nevermind 67 votes!

Throughout the phone encounter, in which Simone displays the patience of a saint, this Jim from Westchester continues to avoid the issue of SUPPLY and focus on the Bush administration.  Repeatedly, the host attempts to steer him back to the concept that producing one million plus more barrels a day (in Alaska) will help bring down costs of oil on the world market but Jim won't listen.  This reminds me of a Meat and Potatoes saying I have about debating liberals:  "The hardest thing when debating a liberal is getting them to FOCUS, the next hardest thing is getting them to THINK!" :)  Jim from Westchester is a sterling example of such dunderheaded liberal behavior.

Deep down the Democrat party hierarchy has got to be nervous about these energy prices and the anger it has created in the American voting public.  A big election is coming in about 140 days and they have the shakiest candidate since George McGovern running at the top of their ticket!  Idiots like this Jim from Westchester are attempting to construct an alternate reality because they know that the historical record will show Democrats as the cause of this latest energy crisis.  Jim tries to say that not all Democrats vote against domestic energy production, nuclear power plants or refinery construction but here's the point:  Nobody is saying ALL Democrats, just 85 percent to 90 percent of them vote that way.  While for Republicans, 85 to 90 percent vote in favor or domestic drilling in "off limits areas", making it easier to build nuclear plants and refineries.  Look at the votes Jim, unless you are too much of a coward to do so.  The truth is out there and if you can't face it, we'll face up to it for you buddy.
