Democrat David Obey (WI), who tonight feels like a teenager doing his term paper the night before it's due, needs to ram a budget bill through the House so that it can whisk its way over to the U.S Senate in time to avoid a government shut-down!!! This guy Obey, a detestible, left-wing, peacenik douchebag, had plenty of time to get a bill through the Congress previously so what in the world happened? Well, more about that later.....
The last minute bill Obey developed was significantly over the limit set by President Bush but he decided to let it ride. Presidential budget director, Jim Nussle informed Obey that he was "pissing up a rope" with this attempt and to take it back to the drawing board for another try. So, why would Obey purposely put together a spending bill that was well over the limit that our President said he would sign? Well, the Democrats are all about power and control. They like holding onto things such as your freedoms and especially your wallet! In this case, they are holding our young military men and women as de-facto hostages so they can get MORE than a 5 percent increase for domestic spending on programs like welfare, medicaid, head start and others. Furthermore, they are holding many Federal employees hostage as well because some of these individuals will be given their walking papers come January when the money goes "bye bye".
The Democrats are playing with a "King Cobra" here and it is going to swing around and bite them right in their big, fat keester! There is no excuse for a lack of funding the government in ALMOST EVERY CASE so what's the problem this time? Well the leftists who control the Democrat party have been trying to pander to their left-wing, kook, fringe basketcases all year. Incidentally, I have given these nutcases a name: the Viet-Wrong! Reid and Pelosi have authored at least fifty-five resolutions to cut-off war funding and please these folks. Not a single one has succeeded thanks to a tough group of Republicans like Zach Wamp (R-TN) who realize the stakes in our fight and opposed the resolutions. So, tell me something: What happens when your attention gets fixated on ONE TASK for an extended period of time? If you answered "Well that's easy Mister Meat and Potatoes, everything else goes to hell in a handbasket", you would be most correct, sir! The chickens have come home to roost for Democrats, how sweet it is!
Now, how is this battle different from the battle fought between Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton which resulted in a shut-down in time for Christmas 1995? Similar to this budget brew-ha-ha, it was a battle between competing ideologies and therefore different priorities. Well remember that little thing called 9/11, where planes were flown into buildings at 485 knots and countless lives were changed forever? That seemingly insignificant event (according to Dumb-o-crats) slapped us upside the head and said to us "That peace dividend Clinton bragged about all through the 1990's NEVER really existed". It was a Potemkin Village, a mirage of sorts and while we were partying it up and watching our 401K's get fat as a chesire cat, the terrorists were training and planning to attack us!
So what ended up happening? We woke up, grew up and realized that national security comes first above all the welfare, the medicaid and the other Democrat giveaway programs. I realize that these Democrats are the "good hands people" but think about this: We get attacked in a way that makes 9/11 pale in comparison and government giveaways will be the least of our worries!
