After a day of reflecting on this "new and improved" intelligence from what are most likely entrenched left-wing douchebags in Washington, D.C., I can say the following: I'm not ready to bet my family's life on their assumed competence! IRAN HAS BEEN OUR ENEMY FOR ALMOST 30 YEARS, that is a fact and I'm not going to let one silly National Intelligence Estimate make me think they are now our bestest buddy. Actions speak louder than words. If Iran decides to engage in FOUR distinct actions, then perhaps we can make "kissy-kissy" with them someday in the distant future:
1) they open up ALL THEIR FACILITIES to inspection by NRC, CIA, DIA and other defense officials.
2) they cease all operations in Iraq with regard to supplying fighters and weaponry to the insurgency.
3) they immediately stop funding Hamas and Hezbollah with hundreds of millions of dollars per year.
4) they immediately pay the LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT to the families of our 241 U.S. Servicemen who were killed in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing. (220 of them were United States Marines)
Iran does all this and perhaps we will see that they are now a gentler, friendlier nation who embraced a spirit of harmonious cooperation with that nation formerly known as "the Great Satan". Until that point however, we best be prepared for the worst case scenario. If we end up pleasantly surprised, then so be it.
